Phase-out of Bosch SSB Residential platform boilers SSB 85, 120 & 160

Global Protankless Supply would like to announce that Bosch Thermotechnology has discontinued the full line of Stainless Steel boilers.  The models that have been discontinued are the SSB 85, SSB 120 and the SSB 160.  These boilers are replaced with the Bosch Greenstar Floor-Standing boilers.

Contractors who are looking to purchase an SSB Residential model should use the chart below to reference which Greenstar boiler model is the most suitable alternative. The primary difference is the heat exchanger material, which is stainless steel for the SSB and cast aluminum for the Greenstar, as well as minor variations in the BTU inputs.

Bosch Buderus Stainless Steel Boilers

Global Protankless Supply is now carrying the Bosch Buderus Stainless Steel Boilers (SSB).  These residential stainless steel Buderus boilers come in three different sizes ranging in BTU sizes of 85K BTU, 120K BTU and 160K BTU.

The three residential Bosch Buderus Stainless Steel Gas-Fired, Floor-Standing Condensing Boilers (SSBs) are designed with the same high-quality components found in our commercial stainless steel boilers, but in a compact space-saving design. All of the residential Bosch Buderus stainless steel boilers include integral pumps, built-in low water cut-offs, adjustable manual reset high limits, push-terminal wiring and a host of venting options.

Venting Options:

•Included adapter allows connection to PVC, CPVC, stainless steel, PP, and PP-Flex (M&G   Duravent  PolyPro and Centrotherm Innoflue)

•Multiple boilers (up to 8) can be connected in cascade for increased heating capacity.
•Add an outdoor air temperature sensor to the boiler for an outdoor reset supply temperature control   for increased fuel efficiency and comfort.

Location of Serial Number on Bosch Greenstar Gas-Fired Boilers

The information below is to familiarize people with the location of the serial number on their Bosch Gas-Fired Greenstar Boiler.  The serial number will be needed for registering the unit with Bosch so that the customer gets a full warranty.  The serial number is located in 2 places on the Greenstar boiler itself.  Please see the images below for location of the serial number.

Bosch Greenstar Wall-Hung Boilers Now Come With CRC200 Comfort Room Controller

All of the Bosch Greenstar Wall-Hung boilers now come with the CRC200 Comfort Room Controller.  The Wall-Hung Greenstar boilers used to come with the FW200 Weather Compensating Controller but that is now sold as an accessory. The Bosch Greenstar Floor-Standing boilers do not come with a thermostat.

The CRC200 is a programmable controller with an integrated temperature sensor and can be used as a boiler control or in conjunction with the CZM100 Comfort Zone Manager as a room controller. It comes with back light and features a time program for heating and indirect hot water tank.

The user interface is used to control a heating zone and a Domestic Hot Water (DHW) tank charging circuit for water heating directly at the heat source. The user interface displays information about the heat source and heating system and is used to change the settings.

A maximum of 8 heating zones is permitted when connected to several CZM100 Comfort Zone Managers. Water heating may be controlled with or without time program. Installation options: On the wall with a BUS connection to a heat source or CZM100 module with an EMS-BUS Interface (Energy Management System).

New Bosch CT100 Wi-Fi Enabled Smart Thermostat Control

Global Protankless Supply is pleased to announce that Bosch is now making a CT100 Wi-Fi enabled smart thermostat for all the Bosch Greenstar wall-hung and floor standing straight boilers and combination boilers.  The Smart control is also good for the Buderus GB142, GB162 series condensing boilers.  The Bosch Control CT 100 connects to your boiler’s EMS BUS connection only. Therefore it can only be used for installations with a single zone. The CT100 wi-fi enabled smart controller cannot be used with the Bosch CZM100 Zone Manager to control multiple zones.

Bosch Greenstar Floor Standing (FS) Combi & Straight Boilers

Global Protankless Supply is pleased to announce the highly anticipated Greenstar Floor Standing (FS) series boilers. The Greenstar FS Boilers are fully modulating heat only or combi floor standing gas condensing boilers with many of the same features and customer benefits of the Greenstar wall boiler, with some additional innovations.

Installation has been simplified, with two new innovations:

  a. The Greenstar FS includes an integrated supply return manifold that can be field converted into a low loss header (LLH) to accommodate existing pipe work.

  b. All line and low voltage connections have been relocated into junction boxes on
  the back of the boiler for easier access and wiring.

Venting options have been expanded from PVC, CPVC, concentric & ridged PP to also include flexible PP venting. This provides a quick and easy venting solution for retrofit applications where the boiler and piping is not relocated.

The FW200 Weather Compensation Boiler Control (87182262150) is an optional accessory and is not included with the Greenstar Floor Standing Boilers.
