Recirculation Pumps for New Bosch Greentherm 9000 Series Gas Tankless Water Heaters

Global Pro Tankless Supply is now carrying the new Bosch Greentherm 9000 series gas tankless water heaters.  The New Greentherm 9000 series heaters have many new features.  Some of the new 9000 series heaters such as the 9900i SE 199, 9900 SE 199 and the 9900 SE 160 indoor models  come with a built in recirculation pump.  The built-in recirculation pump is good for homes up to 2,000 sq ft that minimizes water waste waiting for hot water at the faucet and saves about 11,000 gallons per household per year!  All of the other 9000 series units have a plug on the bottom of the unit for an external recirculation pump to be installed.  Please refer to the installation manual and consult with your installer on sizing the proper pump for the correct size home.

Bosch Tankless Water Heaters with New Built-In External Water Filters

Bosch Thermotechnology is always improving the gas-fired tankless water heaters and has recently improved all the sealed combustion tankless water heaters and have added a new hydraulic block on the bottom of all the units that incorporates a new built in external water filter.

The Bosch Greentherm C950ES and Bosch Greentherm C1050ES condensing heaters were designed with the new hydraulic block and external water filter built in.  The Bosch Therm C1210ES/ESC, Bosch 940ES and the Bosch 830ES have recently had the new hydraulic block and external water filter added.  After Serial number beginning with "301" will have the built in external water filter.

All of the older Bosch "Therm" models before serial number 301 had the external water filter, part #8703035356 and was sold as an accessory.

New changes to the Bosch Greentherm C950ES & C1050ES

Bosch is always making changes to their products to help improve performance.  Below are a few changes that have recently been approved for the Bosch Greentherm C950ES & Bosch Greentherm C1050ES tankless water heaters.

The Bosch Greentherm C950ES & C1050ES can now be vented using 2" PVC/CPVC and must use the twin pipe system for this application.  Please see the venting section in the installation manual for more details.

The Front cover for the Bosch C950ES & C1050ES is changing from Silver to White.  This will be in effect for all the Greentherm and Therm units.

The Thermal Efficiency for the Greentherm C950ES heater is 94% with an Energy Factor of .95.
The Thermal Efficiency for the Greentherm C1050ES heater is 96% with an Energy Factor of .95.

Warranty updates
For recirculation applications:
The C950ES & C1050ES heat exchanger warranty has been improved to 10 years for the following applications:
- Controlled recirculation applications
- Combination DHW and space heating applications
This warranty statement takes affect with products produced since April 2014 (FD 420). C950ES & C1050ES products produced prior to April 2014 (before FD 420) will follow the previous warranty statement.

New Greentherm PP Concentric up and out vent kit

New for the Bosch Greentherm C 950 ES & C 1050 ES is the polypropylene concentric up-and-out venting kit consisting of the appliance adapter, a 90° elbow, and a termination. This is the simplest and quickest venting option possible for a condensing tankless unit. The outer metal pipe and the inner polypropylene pipe make it both lightweight and rigid. The termination is telescopic to allow for varying wall thicknesses.

This new PP concentric up and out vent kit is approved for the New Green Therm C950ES & C1050ES tankless water heaters.  The PP concentric up and out vent kit is also approved for the Bosch Therm C950ES & C1050ES.  

Before attaching the appliance adapter to the top of the heater, a second metal plate comes with the kit and would cover the other intake air hole.  Then you would want to remove the exhaust collar from the top middle of the heater and then attach the appliance adapter as this will enable the heater to exhaust to the outside and also take its combustion air down the outer side of the same hole.

The Greentherm models C 950 ES & C1050ES are also approved for PP twin-pipe venting systems. Availability of generic PP vent pipe has increased and systems are becoming more popular due to ease of installation.  The twin pipe installation would be used if the customer needed to go out a different area out the sidewall or through the roof and would need to take the combustion air from the outside also.
