Phase-Out of Bosch Therm 830ES & 940ES Tankless Units in Canada

Bosch Thermotechnology would like to inform you of the phase-out of the
non-condensing gas tankless models 830 ES and 940 ES, in Canada.
This phase-out only applies to Canada (i.e. there are no changes to the
US product portfolio).

Due to a regulation amending the 2016 Energy Efficiency Regulations

(Amendment 15, SOR/2019-164), which affects appliance efficiency

requirements, all non-condensing gas tankless models will be phased out in Canada. Therefore, Bosch Therm 830 ES and Therm 940 ES will

be phased-out as of December 31, 2019.  Spare parts for these tankless water heaters will still be available for sale in Canada.

Global Protankless Supply would like to say that the new Bosch Greentherm 9000 Series condensing units are still available for sale in Canada.  Below are links to the new Bosch Greentherm 9000 Series units:

Bosch Greentherm 9000 series venting options

Global Pro Tankless Supply is now carrying the Bosch Greentherm 9000 series condensing tankless water heaters.  The new 9000 series heaters can be vented with PVC, CPVC, PP and also ABS-DWV.  The maximum flue temperature is limited to 145 degrees.  Global Protankless Supply is a Z-Flex distributor and we carry the Polypropylene venting and PP venting kits for vertical and horizontal installations.  There is a 1' minimum on the venting.  An external condensate drain T is not required as the heater has a down fired heat exchanger.  There is a condensate drain on the bottom of the heater and needs to be drained in accordance with the installation manual and per local codes.

Below are different options for venting the 9000 series tankless:

1.  Single exhaust vent going vertical or horizontal and intake air taken from the room installed.  This option is for warm climate areas where there is not a problem with cold air coming back down through the exhaust vent.

2.  Twin pipe exhaust and intake for vertical or horizontal installation.  It is recommended that the intake and exhaust be terminated out the same sidewall or roof area.

3.  Concentric vent termination using 3" PVC concentric vent system #196016.  This concentric vent system can be used for horizontal or vertical termination.  All other 3" PVC pictured is sold separately.

4.  Vertical venting system into a chimney using flexible PP.  Please note that the maximum length for the flexible PP is greatly reduced by 60%.  Example: 10 feet of flex PP is equivalent to 25 feet of rigid PP.

5.  Horizontal venting using the Z-Flex Z-Dens 2" Concentric Horizontal Kit (2ZDHK2).  The Z-Flex Z-Dens 2" Concentric Horizontal Kit 2ZDHK2 comes with a concentric termination horizontal, adaptor collinear to concentric, 2 locking clamps & 2 Adaptors CPVC / PVC Coupling to PP.  The Z-Dens 2"/4" Concentric Horizontal Vent Kit (2ZDHK2) is also available in 3"/4" (2ZDHK3) and 4"/6" (2ZDHK4).

6.  Vertical venting using the Z-Flex Z-Dens 2" Concentric Vertical Kit (2ZDVK2).  The Z-Flex Z-Dens 2" Concentric Vertical Kit 2ZDVK2 comes with a concentric termination vertical, adaptor collinear to concentric, 2 locking clamps & 2 Adaptors CPVC / PVC Coupling to PP.  The Z-Dens 2"/4" Concentric Vertical Vent Kit (2ZDVK2) is also available in 3"/4" (2ZDVK3) and 4"/6" (2ZDVK4).

The Z-Flex Z-Dens 2"/4" horizontal and vertical vent kits work well with the New Bosch Greentherm 9000 series gas tankless water heaters.  Please see the models listed below that work for the venting kits.

Z-Flex Z-Dens 2" Concentric Horizontal & Vertical Vent Kits

Global Protankless Supply is now carrying the Z-Flex Z-Dens 2" Concentric Horizontal Kit (2ZDHK2) and also the Z-Dens 2" Concentric Vertical Kit (2ZDVK2).  The concentric horizontal and vertical vent kits are ULC-S636 listed polypropylene gas venting systems suitable for venting positive or negative pressure residential and commercial gas and oil fired Category II and IV condensing heating appliances with a maximum continuous flue gas temperature of 248°F (120°C).

There are several distinct advantages with the Z-Dens Concentric horizontal and vertical vent kits. This polypropylene piping is long lasting and easy to install as no cure time is required. Acidic flue gas condensate resistance provides a means of reducing boiler contamination. Lastly, in the event of expansion and contraction of the venting run, the Z-Flex Z-Dens venting eliminates the inherent dangers found with PVC/CPVC glued pipe joints.

Z-Flex Z-Dens 2" Concentric Horizontal Kit (2ZDHK2)

The Z-Flex Z-Dens 2" Concentric Horizontal Kit 2ZDHK2 comes with a concentric termination horizontal, adaptor collinear to concentric, 2 locking clamps & 2 Adaptors CPVC / PVC Coupling to PP.

Z-Flex Z-Dens 2" Concentric Vertical Kit (2ZDVK2)

The Z-Flex Z-Dens 2" Concentric Vertical Kit 2ZDVK2 comes with a concentric termination vertical, adaptor collinear to concentric, 2 locking clamps & 2 Adaptors CPVC / PVC Coupling to PP.

Global Protankless Supply also offer 2"/4" concentric venting straight pieces and elbows for additional vent length run.

The Z-Flex Z-Dens 2"/4" horizontal and vertical vent kits work well with the New Bosch Greentherm 9000 series gas tankless water heaters.  Please see the models listed below that work for the venting kits.

Greentherm T9800SE 160/199 Cable Accessory for External Recirculation Pump

The Bosch Greentherm T9800SE 160 and the Greentherm T9800SE 199 gas tankless water heaters have an optional cable accessory that enables the heater to be connected to an external pump for recirculation application.  Direct recirculation through the tankless water heater is permissible, however, the heat exchanger warranty is reduced to 3 years.

This appliance has been designed to permit recirculation by controlling an external pump. For this function, the external pump must be electrically connected to the appliance - Bosch Greentherm External Pump Cable Accessory (7736504585).  The external pump will be sized by a contractor for the size of the application.

For further questions on the cable accessory or to place an order please call Global Protankless Supply at 866-289-4652.

Venting Requirements for the New Bosch Greentherm T9900 & T9800 Condensing Tankless Water Heaters

Global Protankless Supply is now carrying the New Bosch Greentherm T9900 & T9800 Condensing Tankless Water Heaters.  This is to cover the venting requirements for the indoor model heaters.  The Bosch T9900 & T9800 models can be vented horizontally out the sidewall of the home or vertically through the roof.  The venting connection and intake hole is on top of the unit and is 2" diameter.  The Bosch Greentherm T9900 & T9800 series heaters can be vented using 2", 3" or 4" PVC, CPVC, PP or ABS.

The minimum exhaust pipe length is 1 ft (0.3m) of straight vent pipe. The minimum air intake pipe length is 1 ft or one 90° elbow or an air intake grill cap to prevent debris from falling into the appliance.
