Just recently Bosch Buderus has started phasing out the Buderus GB142 line of wall hung Buderus boilers. The Buderus GB142 line will be replaced by the Bosch Greenstar gas fired boiler line.

Bosch Tronic 5000 WH36 Electric Tankless Water Heater Discontinued

Bosch Thermotechnology has recently announced they are ending the production immediately of the Bosch Tronic 5000 WH36 whole house electric tankless water heater. This unit required the home to have at least a 300 amp service and the heater got hard wired in using 6 gauge wire to 3 - double pole 60 amp breakers.

Z-Flex Z-Vent 3" to 32" Diameter Double-Wall Stainless Steel Venting

Global Pro Tankless Supply is now carrying the full line of Z-Flex Z-Vent double-wall stainless steel venting from diameters of 3" up to 32". The Z-Vent double-wall stainless steel venting is AL29-4C and is rated for Category I, II, III and IV appliances. The double walled venting has a tapered end on one side and a seal with a built in clamp on the other. The tapered end can be cut to fit. The Stiebel Eltron Tempra B units can be used with 240V/220V or 208V and come in a variety of different KW units ranging from 12KW up to 36KW for all types of applications. These units are 99% efficient. The Stiebel Eltron Tempra B units can accept inlet water temperatures up to 131 degrees F. The Tempra B models have a temperature control on the front of the unit allowing the temperature to be adjusted from 86 - 140 degrees F. Please remember anything over 125 degrees F is scalding. The Bosch Greentherm T9800SE 160 and the Greentherm T9800SE 199 gas tankless water heaters have an optional cable accessory that enables the heater to be connected to an external pump for recirculation application. Direct recirculation through the tankless water heater is permissible, however, the heat exchanger warranty is reduced to 3 years.

This appliance has been designed to permit recirculation by controlling an external pump. For this function, the external pump must be electrically connected to the appliance - Bosch Greentherm External Pump Cable Accessory (7736504585). The external pump will be sized by a contractor for the size of the application.

The Z-Flex stainless steel venting comes in many different diameters and is available in single wall stainless steel or double wall stainless steel.

The Z-Flex stainless steel 3" - 4" Increaser is single wall stainless steel and is designed for venting systems that go vertical and need to transition from 3" diameter to 4" diameter.

The Z-Flex stainless steel 3" - 4" Eccentric Increaser is single wall stainless steel and is designed for venting systems that go horizontal and need to transition from 3" diameter to 4" diameter. This venting is best used in this application as the venting piece is offset.

Warranty for Bosch Stainless Steel Indirect Storage Tanks

This is to cover the warranty of the Bosch Stainless Steel Indirect Storage Tanks. The Bosch indirect storage tanks have a Limited Lifetime Warranty. The lifetime limited warranty is for all Bosch stainless steel indirect storage tanks installed in residential applications.

The Bosch Stainless Steel Indirect Storage Tanks covered under this warranty are:
Bosch SST SST150-40 40 Gallon
Bosch SST SST250-65 65 Gallon
Bosch SST SST300-80 80 Gallon
Bosch SST SST450-119 119 Gallon

WARRANTY COVERAGE
First Ten Years –Limited Warranty

Bosch Thermotechnology Corp. (BTC) warrants that the Tank assembly will remain free of leaks for ten years from the date of original installation provided that the Tank is properly maintained by a qualified heating contractor and the other conditions of this warranty are met. If during this time BTC determines that the leak is the result of a defect in workmanship or materials, BTC, at its option, will repair or replace the Tank. Labor charges are not included.

Eleventh Year and Beyond– Limited Warranty

Beginning on the eleventh year from the date of original installation and thereafter, BTC provides a limited prorated warranty for defects in the Tank. If BTC determines that the leak is the result of a defect in workmanship or materials BTC will, at its option, repair the defective Tank or replace it with the most comparable model available from BTC at the time of the replacement, provided that the purchaser pays for the proportionate charge set forth below. The proportionate charge is based on the current list price of the Tank involved in the warranty claim (or the nearest comparable model). The purchaser is charged a percentage of the list price of the Tank (at the time of the claim) as detailed below.

If the Tank is no longer available, BTC will provide a new residential hot water Tank at the then applicable retail price less the proportionate charge for the Tank as set forth in the table above (the charge will be calculated using the last list price of the discontinued Tank). Labor charges are not included.

Other Hot Water System Components

All other components outside of the indirect tank will be covered for 1 year from date of installation.

Please be aware there are many factors and elements that affect the Bosch SST units. One major factor that is not covered under the lifetime limited warranty is high levels of Chlorine in the water. BTC will not warranty a unit that is installed in an area that has 80 parts per million (ppm) or higher of Chlorine in the water. People with high levels of Chlorine or other minerals in the water should use a glass lined indirect tank and at current this is not an option through Bosch.

Venting Requirements for the New Bosch Greentherm T9900 & T9800 Condensing Tankless Water Heaters

Global Protankless Supply is now carrying the New Bosch Greentherm T9900 & T9800 Condensing Tankless Water Heaters. This is to cover the venting requirements for the indoor model heaters. The Bosch T9900 & T9800 models can be vented horizontally out the sidewall of the home or vertically through the roof. The venting connection and intake hole is on top of the unit and is 2" diameter. The Bosch Greentherm T9900 & T9800 series heaters can be vented using 2", 3" or 4" PVC, CPVC, PP or ABS.

The minimum exhaust pipe length is 1 ft (0.3m) of straight vent pipe. The minimum air intake pipe length is 1 ft or one 90° elbow or an air intake grill cap to prevent debris from falling into the appliance.

Top Water Connections on the New Bosch Greentherm 9900 & 9800 Series Models

Global Pro Tankless Supply is now carrying the new line of Bosch Greentherm 9900 and 9800 series gas tankless water heaters. The new Bosch Greentherm units have 3/4" water connections on the top of the units now for easier installation. This will make the installation easier when replacing a traditional style tank heater. The new Bosch 9900 & 9800 series units also have drain/flush ports on the bottom of the unit to service and drain the heater as needed. There is no longer a need for service valves to be installed on the hot/cold water connection fittings. All of the new Bosch Greentherm outdoor models have bottom water connection fittings.
